The Japan Playwrights Association (the “Association”) establishes this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) regarding the handling of Personal Information for the “Playtext Digital Archives” service (the “Service”) provided on this website.
This Policy explains what Personal Information the Association collects, how it is used and shared, and how Users can manage their Personal Information.

2. Methods of Collecting Personal Information
When Users register for the Service, the Association may collect Personal Information, including but not limited to full name, stage name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number.
When Users submit inquiries via the contact form or by email, the Association collects the User’s name, telephone number, and email address.
The Association may also obtain, from its business partners and other affiliated entities (collectively, the “Partners,” including information providers, advertisers, and advertising distributors), transaction records and settlement information that include Personal Information regarding transactions between Users and such Partners.
3. Purposes of Use
The Association collects and uses Personal Information for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the Service;
- To respond to inquiries from Users (including performing identity verification);
- To send, by email or other means, information about new features, updates, campaigns, and other services offered by the Association;
- To contact Users as necessary regarding maintenance and important notices;
- To identify Users who violate the Terms or attempt to use the Service for improper or unlawful purposes, and to deny or suspend their use of the Service;
- To enable Users to access, correct, or delete their registration information and to view their usage status;
- To bill and collect usage fees (including performance fees) from Users; and
- For other purposes incidental to the above.
4. Security Management Measures
The Association endeavors to keep Personal Information accurate and up to date and implements necessary and appropriate measures to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or damage. The Association provides training to all officers and employees, has established internal rules on the protection of Personal Information, and conducts periodic inspections of on-site management.
5. Joint Use of Personal Data
The Association jointly uses Personal Data as follows:

Purpose of Joint Use: The same purposes described in Section 3 “Purposes of Use”.
Items of Personal Data Jointly Used: Name, address, telephone number, and email address.
6. Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties
- The Association shall not provide Personal Data to any third party without the User’s consent, except as permitted by applicable laws and guidelines, or to the extent necessary to consider and decide on applications for performance permissions submitted through the Service, in which case the Association may provide such information to authors and copyright holders (including rights administrators) within the necessary scope.

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the following cases shall not be deemed to constitute provision to third parties:
- where the Association entrusts the handling of Personal Data, in whole or in part, to a contractor within the scope necessary to achieve the Purposes of Use;
- where Personal Data is provided as part of a business succession due to a merger or other reasons; or
- where Personal Data is jointly used with specific entities and, in advance, the User has been notified—or the information has been made readily accessible—of the items of Personal Data jointly used, the scope of the joint users, the purposes of use, and the name of the person or entity responsible for managing such Personal Data.
7. Disclosure of Retained Personal Data

Upon request from the individual, the Association shall disclose the Retained Personal Data concerning the individual without delay. However, the Association may refuse disclosure, in whole or in part, if any of the following applies:
- disclosure may harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party;
- disclosure may significantly impede the proper execution of the Association’s operations; or
- disclosure would violate laws or regulations.
- In such case, the Association shall notify the requester without delay. A handling fee of JPY 1,000 per request will be charged for disclosure.
- Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, information other than Personal Information—such as log or attribute information—will not, in principle, be disclosed.

9. Use of SSL
This website supports SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and encrypts communications between Users’ browsers and the web server. Personal Information entered by Users—such as names, addresses, and telephone numbers—is automatically encrypted.
10. Use of Cookies
This website uses cookies, which are small data files sent from a web server to a web browser. By referencing cookies, the Association’s website can recognize Users’ devices and enable more efficient use of the website. The cookie files set by the Association’s website do not contain information that personally identifies Users. Users may disable cookies in their browser settings.
